Design of a Wide Band Diagonal Horn Antenna

A wide band diagonal horn antenna is proposed in this paper. Compared with the pyramid horn antenna, the gain and pattern of the diagonal horn antenna are more stable, and the sidelobe level is lower. The operating frequency band of the proposed antenna is 8.2-12.4GHz. The measured VSWR results are less than 1.2, the gain are 20dB Typ., the cross polarization isolation are -40dB Typ. and the sidelobe results of the E surface and H surface are less than -30dB and -35dB. The proposed diagonal horn antenna has been used in actual communication and measured system.
