Low-Voltage Ride Through Control of Direct-Drive Wind Power Generation System Based on Auxiliary Converter

With the increase in the proportion of wind energy in today's energy, the development of wind turbines is becoming more and more important, especially for the safety and reliability of wind turbines. Low voltage ride through (LVRT) is one of the important indicators. Aiming at the problem of grid-side voltage sag, a new type of joint control strategy based on unloading circuit and parallel converters is proposed to realize the low voltage ride-through of the wind turbine, and the simulation verification is realized in MATLAB. The simulation results show that the grid-side parallel converter has a better suppression effect on the DC bus voltage, and at the same time, it cooperates with the unloading circuit on the DC side to enable the wind turbine to achieve a more stable operation without disconnecting from the grid during a fault.
