Characteristics for Train-to-Train Channel based on Ray Tracing

In this paper, ray-tracing technology is used to investigate the train-to-train (T2T) wireless channel at 2.1 GHz, mainly between trains in the same direction and at the same speed in high-speed rail. The channel characteristics are analyzed, including propagation path, path loss, multipath clustering and delay spread, Rice factor, spatial characteristics and channel stationarity. It is found that the surrounding environment has a great influence on the characteristics of the wireless channel. Multipaths will cluster under the influence of the surrounding buildings, especially the buildings with the same height or higher than the train antenna. In order to characterize the non-stationary characteristic of the channel, the time PDP correlation coefficient (TPCC) is introduced to judge the stationarity of the channel.
