Dual-Band Substrate Integrated Waveguide Cavity-Backed Antenna Based on LTCC in D-Band

In this paper, a D-band dual-band substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity-backed antenna based on low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) fed by standard Flange of WR-6.5 rectangular waveguide (RWG) has been proposed. The dual-band cavity-backed antenna operates at its two high-order radiation modes through the four radiating slots etched on the top of its surface coupled by an hourglass-shaped inductive window. In addition, the design of SIW-RWG vertical transition is in order to transmit the power from the waveguide to the SIW cavity-backed antenna efficiently. The 10-dB impedance bandwidths of the proposed antenna are over 3% at both radiation frequencies of 146.6 and 167.2 GHz, while the maximum realized gains are 8.73 and 9.29 dBi, respectively. According to the LTCC process, the structure of the antenna is able to be stable and well performed.
