Smart Attendance System Using Biometric and GPS

Any academic institution must maintain an attendance system to teach discipline to students. It is also a factor to evaluate student performance in regularity. The repetition of taking attendance makes it time-consuming. Since the administration was following the traditional way of attendance taking costs more labour and time. To mark attendance, students must scan a QR code containing the student details provided by the institute. With the obj ective of preventing cheating, the system uses biometric identification, primarily fingerprints unique to each individual. After these complete processes, the software marks the student's attendance based on time and their presence in the class. The GPS Technology allows us to check if students gave their attendance within the classes by using the latitude and longitude coordinates of the corner of students' classes. The smart attendance system allows staff to download a copy of student attendance as an Excel file and make a final report of the attendance of all students. Finally, the system achieves these expectations is cost-efficient and speeds up the process.
