Designing Smart Room Using Cisco Packet Tracer Simulator

The importance of smart home automation is gradually increasing in daily human life. Initially many people used this concept for automatic lights and fans on/off which can help elderly or physically handicapped persons. Smart room automation can also be used in office environment for automating conference halls or seminar halls to control all devices in a room. This can also contribute to energy conservation, to improve safety, comfort and efficiency of a room. This paper gives a basic idea to implement automation of the appliances in smart room using Cisco packet tracer simulation tool. Experiments proved that cisco packet tracer is a perfect method to construct functional simulations for IOT.New features like controlling devices using motion sensors and operating through smart phone and laptops were added in this paper.
