Non-Invasive Performance Investigation of Single-Phase Induction Motor under Rotor Fault and Mechanical Bearing Failure

The performance of single-phase induction motor obeys the mathematical modeling and is predictable. The machine parameters and constants can be determined by experimentation methods. Even though various testing methods are available nowadays, the machine performance under faulty condition needs to be studied to predict its dynamic behavior. The effects of rotor faults and mechanical failure are studied and analyzed in this paper. The impact of such faults on the stator side parameters are recorded by the power quality analyzer. The values of total harmonic distortion and total demand distortion are plotted up to the 40

order of harmonics. Induction motor is tested under various rotor fault conditions and the performance is recorded.
