IoT-Based Smart Water Tank Supply Management System Using MQTT Protocol

Growth in the human population and variations in human lifestyle has imposed several challenges. Water resource management is a vital challenge as it plays a very essential section of human life. Water has to be conserved and used appropriately for a better future. Internet of Things has been an emerging technology that improves human life through connecting things. This enables optimized usage of resources as it involves automation of the process. Water management can be automated to prevent wastage and conserve for future use. This paper aims at proposing IoT-based smart water supply management. IoT sensors are used to capture the level, quality, temperature, and leakage of water tanks in an area. The data is transmitted to the area gateway for storage and transmission to the Regional office. The web dashboard available in the regional office enables us to better understand the water consumption of an area. The node-red flow enables the data to store in the cloud and send a notification to use mobile phones. A prototype has also been developed and experimented with under various scenarios.
