Design and Simulation of Ultra-Wideband antenna for Wireless applications

In wireless communications, Ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna systems can provide a unique solution to achieve high speed short range wireless communication. Optimizing characteristics of a UWB antenna covering wider bandwidth, stable gain, and good time response is a major challenge, as it needs to achieve these over UWB bandwidth. This paper proposes two new designs for UWB antennas for wide band applications within the bands 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz. This design maintains bandwidth with enhanced gain & should maintain VSWR ≤ 2. Compact wide-slot antenna with microstrip-fed monopole and circular patch antenna for ultrawideband (UWB) application are presented. The proposed antennas have been designed, simulated using CST Microwave Studio software.
