Reactive Power Voltage Stability Control of Power System with Wind Turbine Based on STATCOM

According to voltage fluctuation caused by the change of wind power and reactive power, a voltage stability control strategy using static synchronous compensator is proposed for renewable power system. Due to the system uncertainties, the adaptive fuzzy sliding mode controller is designed through selecting the appropriate sliding surface and reaching law. The coefficient of the adaptive law is conducted by the fuzzy algorithm. Finally, the robust adaptive reactive voltage controller is verified based on RTDS experiment platform. Experiment results show that the designed STATCOM adaptive fuzzy sliding mode controller, has higher control accuracy and can suppress voltage fluctuation more effectively compared with traditional control strategy.
