P2P Transaction-Based Sharing Solution for Prosumers in Management of Cloud Energy Storage System

Self-generating consumers in the power system are known as Prosumers. Energy storage is the most necessary component of a self-generating future. Consumers have to use energy storage with renewable energy generation to take full advantage. With an increasing inclination towards renewable, not only the implementation of storage but also optimal and efficient use of storage is important. A solution to this idea is Cloud energy storage where users can rent capacity and use centralized storage virtually as if it was at their own premises. The management of the cloud energy storage systems (CESS) needs to be looked upon to optimally schedule the storage. P2P sharing has proved to be a better alternative in working with storage in the case of micro-grid/s. This explains main focus of this paper which is to develop an efficient capacity-sharing game-theory based algorithm. A case study of different models of CESS operation is considered. The comparison for consumers participating in different models of CESS operation and sharing of storage among the prosumers with solar generation is presented. Results prove the efficacy of the algorithm in terms of economic benefit to prosumers. The cost incurred in proposed mechanism is found to be reduced and depicted in tabular form with evident peak load reduction in the curves obtained.
