An isolated microgrid supply block in a urban network for emergency situations

In the high-density consumption area, there is no economical alternative to grid energy supply. In the event of a permanent power outage (Black Out), however, the damage is incalculable. In the following, we present a technical solution which – after the occurrence of the event – can continuously operate an e.g. for the long-term, even several days, island supply of a residential area.In the present historical situation (Ukraine war) the importance has been increased of such emergency solution that can keep in operation the latest electrical appliances (phone, internet) during abnormal power supply condition. The solution is suitable for providing the amount of energy necessary for the daily life of the dense urban residential areas that have developed over the decades, without a significant transformation of the existing energy system. The multiplication of such small island solution raises the resilience of the whole system.
