Simulation of Crosstalk between DC Cable and Signal Cable of Accelerator

In the particle accelerator system, when the magnet power supply transmits current signals to the electromagnet through the direct current (DC) cable, and the common mode noise generated by the power supply will also be transmitted along the DC cable. The common-mode noise will interfere with other sensitive equipment through cable crosstalk, affecting the accuracy of the scientific experiment of the measurement device. Aiming at the electromagnetic (EM) coupling problem between different cables in the accelerator, this paper uses EM simulation software to create a 3D parametric simulation model of parallel cables crosstalk, simulates and studies the influence of several different factors on the crosstalk of the different system's signal cables. Such as the distance between parallel cables, the height of cables from the ground plane, signal frequency, cable type, and shielding layer grounding mode. The simulation results show that increasing the cable spacing and laying cables along the ground plane can reduce the crosstalk noise. The shielded twisted pair is used as the signal cable, and the shielding layer is well grounded can improve the anti-interference ability of the line.
