Hybrid Cryptography Algorithm for the Internet of Things based Plant Information Security

Internet of Things (IoT) is the current trends in monitoring and control of plant parameters in industrial operations. Internet is widely used in various fields and it is utilized to collect large amount of messages. The recent development in the area of factory automation is the combination of microcontrollers with interet that allows accessing of plant data worldwide. The safety issues rises rapidly because of the wide utilization of internet in real-time applications. Intruders can easily getting access to the plant information and alter the process variables which results in failure of process equipments. The objective of this proposed work is to protect the process data from attackers. This proposed work ensures smooth functioning of plant operations. The hybrid cryptography is developed which includes symmetric, RSA and hash functions that increases the level of protecting the plant equipments. It utilizes large key length during encoding, assures integrity and it is verified experimentally. The latency for computing the proposed algorithm is very low. It assures security of plant parameters and allows only authorized parties to monitor the plant information across IoT. Intruders cannot access and alter the process data during transmission. It is applicable for securing the sensitive process information across various industries.
