Comparison of MoM Solutions to Radiation and Scattering Problems on Wire and Surface Models of Microwave Antennas with Linear Elements

An aim of this paper is to compare thin-wire and surface modeling techniques in MoM solution of radiation and scattering problems on microwave antennas with linear and mixed mesh geometries. This is done for two different feed schemes proposed for surface and wire models: delta-gap and wide-gap. The proposed approach is applied to analyzing canonical antenna geometries with linear elements.

I. Introduction

The method of moments (MoM) [1] is widely used to model radiation and scattering problems on various type antennas [2]. Among other types of antennas, dipole and other linear antennas are the most simple and well-known types of antennas used in broadcasting, communications and measurings [2].
