Spatial Characteristics Analysis of Tourist Spots in Kunming based on POI Data

With the improvement of people's quality of life, tourism has gradually become one of the daily activities. By obtaining POI data, this paper classifies the tourist spots into four categories (natural landscapes, cultural landscapes, leisure and entertainment, and other landscapes) according to the characteristics of each spot, and then uses the spatial analysis method to analyze the spatial characteristics of the tourist spots in Kunming, which is visualized by ArcGIS software. The results of the study show that (1) the tourist spots in the main areas of Kunming show a spatially clustered distribution, and their number decreases as the distance grows, while those in the suburbs of Kunming show a point-like distribution. (2) The center of the spatial ellipse of various tourist spots is located in the Guandu District of Kunming City, with a south-north distribution trend, in line with the development direction of the urban area of Kunming. (3) Tourist spots in the outskirts of Kunming are few and sparse, and the development of tourism is uneven.
