Implementation and Investigation of Quantum Characteristics of Cytosine Single –walled Nanotube Transistor: A DFT Based Approach

This paper presents the design and implementation of the bio-molecular transistor using single wall nanotube which is based on Cytosine bio-molecule. Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Non-Equilibrium Green’s Function (NEGF) formalisms are used to achieve the quantum-ballistic calculations for the electronic transport phenomenon for the proposed nanotube. This single wall nanotube with gated structure displays high current-voltage (I-V) features throughout room temperature where the voltage of the electrode has been kept at upto ±1V. This is an attempt to show the application of proposed Cytosine nanotube transistor as NAND/NOR gates. The quantum-ballistic transport model of this analytical theoretical prototype has been investigated using atomistic simulation process. The extreme current is observed throughout the simulation process is approximately 52.6 μA. Furthermore, the local device density of states at diverse energy levels demonstrates the promising applications of Cytosine nanotube as logic gates.
