Multifunctional Unmanned Ground Vehicle

The purpose of this research work is to design and implement a multifunctional Un-manned Ground Vehicle (MUGV) which is multifunctional and economical. MUGV is designed in such way that it can be controlled remotely through the use of IoT cloud or it can be controlled in onsite using Bluetooth controller, the visual data can be acquired by using cameras. This MUGV will be integrated with the two cameras, one in static position for live streaming and a movable secondary camera with pan and tilt motions for acquiring visual data for research and image processing purpose. The MUGV is designed in such a way that it can be divided into multiple sub-systems which are capable of operating independently and for this reason separate power systems installed for each sub system. Raspberry Pi acts as a control unit for integrating different subsystems together to form the MUGV. The actuation of motors of a vehicle is controlled with the help of motor drivers such as L298N and servo motor actuation is controlled by PCA9685 which uses IIC proto-col. In open environments, Wi-Fi dongles are integrated with Raspberry Pi to increase range of control. Software is designed in such a way that the program is automatically started on reboot of Raspberry Pi and after all data collected during surveillance can be stored in a database for further uses.
