Transform domain analysis of holographic data in context of hologram plane coding

In this paper the characteristics of holographic data is analyzed in the transform domain. The real and imaginary parts of the holograms are individually transformed using Discrete wavelet transform (DWT). The characteristics of the transformed coefficients is statistically analyzed in terms of mean, variance, and standard deviation and the histograms have also been plotted. Moreover, the correlation between the inter and intra subband coefficients are also analyzed for both the real and imaginary parts at different transform levels. Results suggest that there is negligible correlation among inter and intra subband coefficients and thus DWT may not be a suitable transform to be used on holographic data.
