MIMO-based Terahertz Radar for Forward-Looking 3-D Imaging at 340 GHz

An all-solid-state terahertz imaging system based on 2-D sparse MIMO array is presented to achieve 3-D forward-looking imaging. The sweep bandwidth of the system ranges from 335.04 GHz to 340.08 GHz, which guarantees the range resolution. A 2-D MIMO array is designed for realizing high cross-range imaging resolution. The 3-D images are reconstructed by back-projection algorithm. The experimental results verify the imaging capability of the system.
