Study on Folded High-Order Compressed Dipole Elements

Mode compression means that some measures are taken to compress the resonant points of high order resonant mode into the low-frequency region, which can achieve different working characteristics from the conventional antenna. In this paper, the research work focuses on the compression characteristics of the antenna basic unit dipole, the current distribution on the whole dipole and the current distribution on the part of the dipole, and the compression characteristics of the dipole under uniform compression and non-uniform compression are studied. Simulation results show that the directionality of the non-uniformly folded 3rd compression dipole is 3.20(5.05dBi), while the directionality of the traditional dipole is 1.64 (2.15dBi). In contrast, the designed folded 3rd compression dipole has a higher gain, which can meet some special needs.
