A Miniaturized Ultra-Broadband Filtered Electromagnetic Protection Component

In this paper, the design and fabrication of a miniaturized C-band electromagnetic protection component with ultra-broadband filtering characteristics are proposed. A multi-stage limiter with two PIN diodes is employed to enhance the overall limiting power and response speed. Combining it with a filter provides better suppression of spike leakage and higher power capacity. The component size is 22 mm × 14 mm. Compared with the traditional electromagnetic protection components, this component has a smaller size, and the insertion loss is less than 0.8dB in the passband of 4GHz-7GHz. Gaussian pulse with 5 kV amplitude can be limited to 16 V.
