IOT Edge Node Network Powered by Teg

In this paper, we present a sensing-edge node framework powered by the MEMS based thermoelectric generator (TEG). The proposed framework consists of a "Edge Node" with complex processing and communication capability, and its multiple wireless, battery-free peripherals for high spatial resolution sensing. The sensing peripherals or "integrated sensor nodes" are small, low cost, ultra-low power devices that can be powered with harvested energy using a TEG. The ultra-low power is achieved using XLP microcontroller and efficient backscatter-based RF communication technique.
