Cost Optimized Design of Full Adder in QCA Technology

The use of electronic devices in our day to day life is increasing rapidly. Everyone wants gadgets with higher battery life and high speed. To optimze power usage, one of the promising technology is QCA (Quantum-Dot Cellular Automata) in which the information is propagated in terms of propagation of polarization between QCA cells. This is due to the Coulombic interaction of electrons between successive QCA cells. In digital electronics, full adder is considered as a key component to perform mathematical and logical calculation inside the ALU. Considering the importance of addition, here an optimized design of cell interaction based QCA full adder is presented. The design is optimized as it utilizes less number of QCA cells, Majority gate, inverter and crossover. QCA designer tool is used for simulations and the results are also compared with previous designs, which also proves the efficacy of presented work.
