Wireless EV Charging Through A Solar Powered Battery

Electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming one of the most anticipated technologies that is gaining global importance very fast. With a lot of focus on EV charging, different modes of charging are also required which gives enough options for the user to charge the EV. Two of the most promising charging strategies for EVs are wireless charging and solar PV (SPV) charging. This work proposes an integration of both the techniques i.e. wireless charging of an EV using an SPV. Both the wireless system and the SpV are integrated to charge a battery which is rated for 120
$V$
and 10 A. The SPV is controlled to achieve maximum power point and wireless power transfer (WPT) is also achieved using a very simple control. The proposed work's performance is shown using MATLAB/Simulink simulations.
