Biography
Fernando Las-Heras (M’86–SM’08) received the M.S. degree in telecommunication engineering and the Ph.D. degree in telecommunication engineering from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), Madrid, Spain, in 1987 and 1990, respectively.,He was a National Graduate Research Fellow from 1988 to 1990, and then an Associate Professor with the Department of Signal, Systems and Radiocommunications, UPM, from 1991 to 2000. He was a Visiting Lecturer with the National University of Engineering, Lima, Peru, in 1996; a Visiting Researcher with Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, USA, in 2000; and a short term Visiting Lecturer with ESIGELEC, Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray, France, from 2005 to 2011.
