Biography
Berardino (Dino) Porretta received a B.A.Sc. and an M.Eng. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Toronto in 1966 and 1970 respectively. He started his career in Ontario Hydro right after the Nov 9, 1965 blackout. After 30 years with Ontario Hydro, he left to start freelancing on projects related to FERC orders 888, 889, and subsequent related orders. In 1997 he founded ErgoSum Inc. to provide engineering services to electrical power utilities. He is a member of IEEE and a member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES).
