Biography
Samuli Laine received the MSc and DSc degrees in computer science from the Helsinki University of Technology, Espoo, Finland, both in 2006, with doctoral thesis focusing on efficient and accurate shadow computation algorithms. He is currently a principal research scientist with NVIDIA and holds a title of docent with Aalto University in Finland. His current research focuses on the intersection of neural networks, computer vision, computer graphics, and generative models. Previously, he has worked on efficient GPU ray tracing, design of ray tracing hardware, and various methods for realistic image synthesis.(Based on document published on 31 January 2020).
