Biography
Gareth Pierce received the B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in pure and applied physics, and the Ph.D. degree in fiber optic applications to laser ultrasonics from the University of Manchester, U.K., in 1989 and 1993, respectively.,He is a Reader in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, U.K. He is based in the Centre for Ultrasonic Engineering where his research interests include nondestructive testing and evaluation, structural health monitoring, automated robotic inspection, uncertainty analysis in dynamic systems, laser ultrasonics and optical-based metrology systems.(Based on document published on 23 April 2014).
