Biography
Jan Christian Albiez studied computer science with a specialization on robotics and processor architecture at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, from 1993 to 1999 and received the Dr. Ing from the University of Karlsruhe for his dissertation about behavior networks for reactive control of biologically inspired walking machines in 2007. He started working as a researcher in the area of biologically inspired walking machines and immersive telerobotics at the Forschungszentrum Informatik in Karlsruhe in 2000. Since 2006, he has been a senior researcher and project leader at the Robotics Innovation Center of the German Center for Artificial Intelligence in Bremen, focusing on autonomous underwater robots and immersive teleoperation.(Based on document published on 13 February 2013).
