Biography
Takahiro Nagano (M'92) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Kyoto Institute of Technology, Kyoto, Japan, in 1967, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Kyoto University in 1969 and 1991, respectively. His Ph.D.dissertation dealt with numerical simulation of the gate-turn-off phenomena, and modeling the turn-off safe-operating area of the gate-turn-off thyristor GTO.,In 1969, he joined Hitachi Research Laboratory, Hitachi, Ltd., Ibaraki, Japan, where he was involved in the research and development of high-power GTOs and MOS gate-controlled switching devices.
