Biography
Hazem M. Raafat (M’73) received the B.Sc. degree (Hons.) in electronics and communications engineering from Cairo University, Egypt, in 1976, and the Ph.D. degree in systems design engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 1985. He was an Associate Professor with the Department of Computer Science, University of Regina, Canada, where he also held a joint appointment with the Electronics Information Systems Engineering Department. He is currently with the Computer Science Department, Kuwait University. His research interests include data mining, computer vision, pattern recognition, multiple-classifier systems, texture analysis, and natural language processing.
