Biography
Werner Klaus received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering/communications engineering from the Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria, in 1991, and the Ph.D. degree in electronics engineering from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1995.,He has been with the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology since October 1995, first as a Postdoctoral fellow and since April 1997 as Permanent Member of the research staff working in the fields of physical optics and optical communications. His primary research interests include simulation techniques of electromagnetic wave propagation and applications of microoptics in the field of optical communications such as photonic crystals, gratings, fiber coupl...
