Biography
William J. Wilson (M’73) received the B. Sc. degree in electrical engineering and the M. Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, SK, Canada, in 1967 and 1969, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in control systems from Cambridge University, Cambridge, U.K., in 1973.,He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada, as an Assistant Professor in 1973, and is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He established position-based visual servoing using a Kalman-filter approach for pose estimation.
