Biography
Yvan R. Petillot received the Engineering degree in telecommunications with a specialization in image and signal processing, the M.Sc. degree in optics and signal processing, and the Ph.D. degree in real-time pattern recognition using optical processors from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Bretagne, Universitée de Bretagne Occidentale, Brest, France. He is a specialist of sonar data processing (including obstacle avoidance) and sensor fusion. He is currently a Professor with the University of Heriot-Watt, Edinburgh, U.K., where he leads the Sensor Processing Group, Oceans Systems Laboratory.
