Biography
Manuel de Medeiros Silva (M'76–SM'81) was born in Ponta Delgada, Azores, in 1943. He received the degree in electrical engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon, Portugal, in 1967, the Ph.D. degree from Imperial College, University of London, U.K., in 1976, and the Agregação from the Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal, in 1983.,He has been a Full Professor of Electronics at IST until 2004 and was Head of the Electrical Engineering Department in 1988–1990. He is now with Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa. He is a researcher at INESC-ID, where he created the research group on Analog and Mixed-Signal Circuits.
