Biography
Joel A. Tropp is Professor of Applied and Computational Mathematics at the California Institute of Technology. He earned the Ph.D. degree in computational applied mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004. Prof. Tropp's interests lie at the interface of applied mathematics, electrical engineering, computer science, and statistics. His work has been recognized with the 2008 PECASE, the EUSIPCO 2010 Best Paper Award, and the 2011 SIAM Outstanding Paper Prize.
