Biography

Vladimir A. Balakirev was born in 1949. He received the M.S. degree from Kharkov State University, Kharkov, Ukraine, in 1973 and the Ph.D. degree in physics and mathematics from Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology (KIPT), Kharkov, in 1985.,He is currently a Leading Senior Research Scientist with the Institute of Plasma Electronics and New Methods of Acceleration, National Science Center, KIPT. His research interests are plasma electronics, advanced methods of acceleration, physics of intense relativistic electron beams, and relativistic high-frequency electronics.(Based on document published on 12 August 2008).
