Biography
Mohammed Nafie (S’93–M’00–SM’12) received the B.Sc. degree (Hons.) from Cairo University in 1991, the M.Sc. degree (Hons.) from King’s College, University of London, in 1993, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1999. After his graduation, he joined the Wireless Communications Laboratory, DSPS Research and Development Center of Texas Instruments. He was a primary contributor in TI’s effort in the IEEE wireless personal area networks standardization process. In 2001, he joined Ellipsis Digital Systems, where he was responsible for the development of the Physical Layer (PHY) of 802.11b wireless LAN standard.
