Biography
David A. Humphreys (M’88–SM’90) was born in Epsom, U.K., in 1956. He received the B.Sc. degree in electronic engineering from Southampton University, Southampton, U.K., in 1978, and the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from London University, London, U.K., in 1990, where his thesis focused on the accurate measurement of high-speed optoelectronic devices at telecommunication wavelengths.,He joined the National Physical Laboratory, Teddington, U.K., in 1978, where he developed metrology for photodiodes up to mm-wave frequencies, optical wavelength capabilities for optical communications, and waveform metrology for RF communications.
