Biography
Hans-Jürgen Warnecke studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany. He was a research engineer at the Institute for Machine Tools and Manufacturing afterward, from 1965 to 1970, a managing director for planning and manufacturing at the Rollei-Werke, Braunschweig, a camera factory. Since 1971, he has been a full professor for industrial manufacturing and management, University of Stuttgart, and the head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) of the Fraunhofer Society for Applied Research.
