Biography

Xue-Bin Liang (S'99) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in mathematics from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, and Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in 1988 and 1991, respectively. He is currently with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Delaware, Newark, DE.,His current research interests are in the closely related fields of information theory, communications, signal processing, and computational intelligence. In these interested domains, he has authored or coau-thored a dozen of papers published in IEEE Transactions.(Based on document published on 7 August 2002).

Based on the multiple scattering theory, we derive a point scattering propagation model which allows an efficient computation of the diffuse component of the electromagnetic field scattered by a vegetation canopy.
