Biography
Yan Wang received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering in 1994, and the M.S. degree in mechatronics, in 1997, from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering in 2001 from the University of California, Santa Barbara, CA, USA, focusing on controls.,He has since been with Ford Research working on different control problems. He accumulated 15+ years of experience in actuator design and mechatronics controls, with interdisciplinary background in mechanical, electrical, and magnetic systems. He then moved to the field of adaptive and optimal control for automotive applications, focusing on automotive calibration and optimal/adaptive control problems.
