Biography
Ralph Lessmann received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from TU Ilmenau. He has been working as a Senior Software Developer in the field of Biometrics for over 25 years. He has mainly been involved in the development of fingerprint systems for the police, visa issuing and border control. He is involved in the development of biometrics standards within NIST ITL1 and ISO/IEC SC37. The focus of his work is on the interoperability of biometric systems. He has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the European Association for Biometrics since 2020, where he heads the Industry Special Interest Group.(Based on document published on 18 March 2024).
