I. Introduction
Several researchers have concentrated on the models for inventory replenishment procedures, including product deterioration, throughout the past 20 years. Product deterioration phenomena have been observed in the inventory of fruits, vegetables, pharmaceuticals, and volatile liquids. Researchers have done fundamental research on deteriorating inventory in Sarkar [1], etc. However, in reality, most perishable products have no deterioration during the first storage stage due to proper maintenance. In recent days, different researchers (Barman et al. [2]) have classified the inventory classification of non-instantaneous. In the present work, we study a price discount scheme for deteriorating items, which are non-instantaneous in nature. We also considered the shortage in the retailer's inventory. It has been added that the retailer can offer an instant price discount to the customer for the deteriorating product during the period of deterioration. The prime objective of this research is to discover the optimal product pricing and inventory scheduling policy so that the industry's overall profit will be maximized.
