I. Introduction
METAVERSE has generated research attention since the pandemic in 2020 as more people got restricted to working online or in hybrid mode. The metaverse can be traced back to 1992 when it was conceived by Neal Spehenson [1]. However, the web 3.0 expectations have made industry and academic stakeholders increase efforts in developing a highly three-dimensional (3D) and immersive experience platform to create a virtual world that can best be described as the digital twin of the ‘real world’ [2]. The reality of the growing interest in the metaverse shown in Fig. 1. As indicated in Fig. 1, using ‘metaverse’ as the ‘key’ search on IEEE Xplore (2022.04.19) gives 77 publications majority of the journals and magazines published from 2020.
