I. Introduction
The concept of Smart City is introduced by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) in June 2015 under the Smart City Mission of India. Dehradun is one of the Smart City selected in round three under the Smart City Mission (SCM) by the Mission of Housing and Urban Development (MoHUA) as a retrofit model. There are infrastructure projects which consists of civil, electrical and information technology components. The project is funded by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and Government of Uttarakhand on 50:50 financial ratio model basis. Under this mission, there are 40 projects which are the part of this mission. There are various projects in implementation phase whose work is in progress. Various IoT devices are installed under IT initiative in Dehradun City. The requirement of electricity is one of the major challenge at every site under this project. There are various energy meters installed based on the load requirement at site ranging from 1 KW, 2KW and 3KW. The provision of solar is also factored for IoT devices as secondary source of power. Due to criticality of devices the UPS power supply is also provisioned at various sites. Government of India has planned 100 smart cities where most of IoT devices is being deployed. The consumption of Power is major concern in infrastructure projects which includes telecom infrastructure also. These IoT devices are connected through Optical Fibre Network for transmission of data captured across city. The aggregated data of IoT devices collected at Integrated Command and Control Centre with the help of Big Data Analytic Technology. The major concern is availability of electricity across all sites 24x7 for capturing any incident and surveillance of the city.
