I. Introduction
Internet addiction is a serious public health problem related to the widespread growth in the number of Internet users (Lai et al., 2015). Gupta, Khan, Rajoura, and Srivastava (2018) found a strong positive relationship between stress and the risk of Internet Addiction. Other studies have also found that stress was positively related to the risk for Internet addiction (Younes et al., 2016; Thomée, Härenstam, & Hagberg, 2012; Al-Gamal, Alzayyat, & Ahmad, 2016). A study conducted by Gholamian et al. (2017) indicated that the average stress score among those with Internet addiction was significantly higher than that among normal Internet users. Stress was also significantly associated with Internet addiction among adolescents in Korea (Kim et al., 2009) and Turkey (Ozturk et al., 2013).
