I. Introduction
The three-phase motor drive design incorporates device selection, thermal management system (TMS) design, filter design, and bus capacitor selection as an example shown in Fig. 1. Due to couplings between different domains, iterations are normally required for the design and optimization, which is time-consuming with a tremendous number of design variables [1]–[3]. Moreover, with emerging applications, like electrified transportations, engineers need to design and optimize the motor drive under various design specifications, e.g., input voltage, to optimize the system. This would require massive efforts if designing and optimizing them manually. To save the design time and efforts, an automated design tool is desired for the three-phase motor drive.
