I. Introduction
Flux-switching permanent magnet (FSPM) machine is a promising candidate for applications requiring high torque density, high speed, high rotor strength and favorable thermal dissipation, e.g. automotive and industries[1]. Instead of conventional PM brushless machines with surface-mounted or interior PMs on rotor, this doubly-salient machine has its active elements located in stator, which brings a benefit of the heat generated by excitation sources can be easily and efficiently dissipated with appropriate cooling[2]. Also, since FSPM machine combines high power density of rotor-PM machines and robust rotor structure of switched reluctance machines (SRMs), it is suitable for high speed operation[3].
